Collaboration with Standing Stone. Tasted 18 July 2014 at the Swing Tree taproom.
Pour is gorgeous. Hazy pale wheat yellow, overflowing head that made me wait not quite long enough to try my patience. Stunning lacing. Dang.
Smell is rich, floral, and pungent in just the right ways. It's got some earthy/mushroomy funk that I dig.
Taste is fine, but very different from the smell. Super light, almost like a mild or ESB. A prickle of spice, a tingle of bitter.
Feel is okay. Quite light, and a little flat (surprising, given the massive head), which make for a mediocre combo. A little more body and fizzy could drastically improve it.
A passable saison. Much more interesting to my nose than to my mouth. The texture needs improvement.
