April 2, 2026 Update: Another taste of this Highly satisfying stuff.

Clear golden yellow brew with lacing all down the narrow Zunft Kölsch glass. Aromatic with greens and a hit of citrus. Spritzy and sudsy mouthfeel. Pleasant grainy taste, mellow with malt. Just a slight astringent note amid the fruit hop flavors. Bright but not acidic, in fact the aftertaste is more like cereal in a nice way. This is just the right balance of flavors and sensations for a light beer. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Not dated.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours golden straw yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Floral, grassy, light citrus, a light mix of white grape with tropical and stone fruit, subtle herbal spice, crackery slightly bready malt, and a little honey sweetness.

T: Floral, soft citrus, tangerine and grapefruit, underlying fruity notes, white grape, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, grassy hints, crackery faintly bready malt, and a little honey sweetness.

M: Light to medium body, mild carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: Kolsches rarely get me all that excited, but this one has definitely got something special going for it. I think the combo of Hallertau Blanc and Mittelfrüh works perfectly to give it a bright easy drinking flavor profile that both hits the classic notes and adds some cool new school fruity ones that fit right in. I'd love to see this one stay in the rotation.
