Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery snifter
A: Pours dark mahogany with a frothy beige head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Smooth fresh ground coffee, roasty, toasty, slightly nutty, mild earthy char, and a little toffee and burnt sugar sweetness.
T: Roasty, smooth fresh coffee, mild earthy char, slightly toasty and nutty, hints of vanilla, faint dark fruit, and just the right touch of toffee and burnt sugar sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, a bit creamy.
O: Really really well done coffee stout that just kept growing on me more and more. No bitter rough edges and not overly sweet like some coffee stouts can be, smooth and balanced all the way. At 6% this would be the perfect way to start the day on the Eastern side.
