Growler filled 8/19/22
I stopped at Whaler’s the other night while continuing my RI brewery journey. I had reviewed a beer from them before so I didn’t bother reviewing one when I stopped at the taproom. However, my friend got this on draft and I enjoyed it so I figured I’d take some to go. Let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy deep gold with a finger of off white head that fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
Man, this is super simple in the nose, but it’s still wonderful. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy strawberry, tart kiwi, honey, bready malt, and light lemon juice
It’s not quite as good in taste, I recall it being a bit better directly from the tap but oh well. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting jammy strawberry, lemon juice, light toasted malt, and a touch of peppery hops. The swallow brings notes of crackery malt, tart kiwi, light strawberry, and honey
A light body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp and fruity beer. Finishes neutral and a bit sweet
I’ll give this one the benefit of the doubt since it was certainly a bit better on draft. Still, good stuff

The nose on this is great, otherwise an average to above-average for the style.
