Appearance - Streaming ruby amber body with tan foam head that has average retention but leaves good lacing in the glass.
Smell - Musty rum aroma in the glass with woody damp rags. Loads of raisin and sweet bready malts. Some light hop presence.
Taste - This one tastes of marshmallow and rum, so that it is very like a Christmas dessert. Good sweet malts in the front and a light follow through on the booze but this again is rather sweet and treacle like. There is light vanilla and honey in here and a tiny hop back end.
Mouth feel - Smooth and creamy but not what I would describe as full.
Overall - I'm not sure I would describe this beer as amazing but I do like it and would not pass it up again but at the same time I would not be rushing out to buy it again.

Pours a chocolate body with quickly disappearing off white head
nice fruity aroma
flavour of damsons with nice bitter finish
