This pour is a clear, brilliant light yellow color with nearly no head. Aroma is like sweet bread, almost like a cornbread fresh out of the oven, one of those kind that come pre-mixed in a bag. Taste is smooth and very mild, very light. The profile doesn't linger and offers a quick hit of very lightly roasted malt. All in all, not bad but not my cup of tea.

Muskelager pours a clean bronze color, with a small, barely lacing head. Aroma is weaker, grainy. Flavor is sweet, grainy, a rich crisp malty backbone. Feels just a little flat. Overall, its on the sweeter side, and has lots of flavors. Overall, not bad at all.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark golden, slightly orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of toasty and slightly roasty bread malts, bread dough, and falls into a sweet bread and corn mash malt aroma. Finishes with more corn aromas with a slight roasty vanilla note. (3.50)
Flavor: The flavor has more pale malts, bread dough, yeast. Slightly toasted, faintly roasted? Then it finishes with a strong cola, malt liquor, and corn mash flavor. Malty on the finish. Leans sweet, but not overpowering.
Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth.
Compared to Surly's First Ave 7/23/21: Pours a slightly darker color. More earth, malt liquor, and cola & corn. Less smooth honey and lemonflower.
Compared to Trader Joe's Lager 8/19/21: Pours a similar color. More floral, fruity, and sour aromas. Less bready malts.
Overall: A toasty version of an American lager. I think it nails the flavors well with earthy notes of bread malt, malt liquor, cola, and corn malts. Almost gives it a sort of vanilla and roasty aroma/flavor like a dark lager. The corn malts are not off-putting and the beer drinks balanced. I enjoyed this one and I think it beats your average American Lager. Good for a Wisconsin beer.

I got a bottle of this beer off the single shelf from a beer store in LaCrosse, WI. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had subtle lactose flare. The taste is nicely balanced and easy to drink with floral blond ale presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

This is a marked improvement from the early days contracting at Minhas. Potosi puts out clean if not unremarkable beers.
Pale saturated gold, brassy tone with some steady rising carb trails. Biscuity malt aroma, lightly sweet and doughy.
Taste is pleasant, no off flavors. Biscuity malt sweetness, faint orange zest and a hint of grassy bitterness. Light bodied but moreish, dry finish keeps you sipping. Smooth supple feel, it’s pretty drinkable and probably the best Pecatonica beer i’ve had. I’m curious if the others have improved since moving brewing to Potosi, and they now have their own brewpub in Warren, IL.
