looks like they do several editions of this sour cherry stout, this one features some coffee, and its pretty awesome, even without trying the regular version to compare. very dark, shiny, and clear, short lived head from the tap, and an instantly intriguing nose, with the sourness right up front, even more amplified it seems here than in a lot of their other beers, lactic and sharp, with some smokiness and almost burnt character from the coffee, deep roast from that and the grain, and a subtle dried cherry sweet and tart thing happening too, complex and layered, maybe more sour than it needs to be, my mouth waters. the flavor is solid too, lots of coffee thats very dark but just off fully fresh, slight green pepper type oxidation to it, hot for a second with all the sourness, which is rather high for a beer like this. the dark malt adds some nice bitterness while the cherry remains largely in the background, less prominent than i imagine it might be in the version without the coffee. decent body but on the light side, clean finishing for how complex it is, but i think a little more sour than flatters the flavors in here...
