Sour Mexican lager w/ lime and salt.
As those warmer Austin days approach, the annual search for the perfect patio beer begins and with it our inspiration to brew just that. ¡Limetastico! is our sour Mexican Lager w/ lime & salt brewed with flaked maize, sea salt, lime zest, and Motueka hops.
SU: 55

Great iteration of a margarita beer, with an undercurrent of that Blue Owl sourness. I am glad the brewer said, “you WILL be able to discern the salt and sour lime in this beer.” Tart, refreshing, and a foamy white head that goes on an on….like your sister.

12 oz can poured in the 6oz Blue Owl taster glass.
Small white head quickly dissipates. Moderately carbonated. Slightly cloudy pale yellow in color. Smells like limes, tastes like limes. Slightly sour and salty as well. Salty bitter finish. Light body. Alcohol is hardly noticeable.
Would be good for a long day of tending the bbq pit.

Poured from a can (no date I could find) into a pint glass
L: totally crystal clear light straw gold, with a thick white head and medium/high visible carbonation. No lacing really
S: kettle sour aroma leads, solid lime and salt behind that but not too assertive
T: follows the nose in reverse, with a great salty margarita flavor leading the way. Get a bit of THP/kettle sour bready character in the middle but not too off-putting. Very refreshing, getting what I expected
F: medium/light body, medium carbonation, quite refreshing and easy drinking
O: a solid beer that delivers exactly what I expected. Nothing groundbreaking but perfect on a summer evening pre-tacos

12oz can - no visible date. Opened 6-6-20.
Pale, straw gold with good clarity. 1" head fades to nothing quickly. Large bubbles. Looks like an AAL.
Lime, white wine - sauvignon blanc character.
Tangy lime, white grape, citrus, zesty.
Light body, medium carbonation. Clean, quick, and dry finish with a good sour pucker and salinity that gets you ready for another swig. Refreshing and easy to drink.
A definite patio pounder.
Good to Very Good.
