Found at The Beer Shop, Athens.
While only pleasant Looks, the Smell of smoked malts is immediate and lasting, but not too strong.
Tastes are fine; but then, I am finally acquiring the taste of smoked beers. Sits in the mouth well enough to drink again.
My first from Siris, I went on their website. Again I found the English button (necessary I suppose given Greece's limited market and the impenetrability of its language; but they already have a better track record than Bavarian brewers in providing that button.) At any rate, I'm going to suppose that Siris is an example of how far Greek micro-brewing has grown. As a town 30 miles from Greece's second city, Siris has a modern brewery and taproom and collaborated with the Hellenic Homebrewers to hold their first contest. Voreia claims to be the first Greek smoked beer... and it is, it is very accomplished indeed. Big OA hugs to Siris for spreading the gospel !
