On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, low beige head. Aroma of piney hops, also some grapefruit. Only mild notes of roast malts. Well hopped flavour throughout, medium dry, with piney / resinous notes. Also some roast malts with hints of coffee. Bitter aftertaste.

Dark brown color with tan head, looks like cola. Aroma has fresh, resiny, slightly dank hops and some caramel malts. Taste is mostly hoppy but you also get the roasted malt. Mostly dank/resiny hops on the taste as well. Light body, medium carbonation. Despite having a low ABV, it's really tasty.

Pint on keg at Picadilly Tap, Manchester (£4.20):
An okay first offering from the brewery with plenty of bitterness but it was a lot darker than I'd been expected & it seemed more earthy with plenty roasted malts at the expense of some of the hops. An enjoyable offering with some nice caramel sweetness & plenty going one but it wasn't quite what I'd expected & it's probably not one I'd go back to in future.

Cola black-brown under creamy tan. 4
Orange oil, root beer barrel, roast. 3.75
Brown rock candy, molasses, then citronella and herbal cough drop hops, and slight ash to linger. 4
Oily, lt-med, clingy. 4
Goes for sweet brown rather than astringent black in the "dark" part. Hops are minty and oily, too, rather than straight fruit. Body's a bit light, but an interesting take (and drinkable ABV) of an overdone style. 4.25
