Viscous black with brown highlights and a tower of steady sepia foam that rings. 4.25
Coffee, ash and steak. 4
Sweet licorice and birch beer, brown sugar, slight walnut, touch of creme brulee, and some coffee grounds astringency to end. Long bittersweet linger. 4
Medium, creamy, round. 4
Surprisingly smooth (lactose + oats) and sweet for a coffee porter. Takes the UK cues for the style by muting the roast, but chocolate is not heavy either. Even the coffee is quieter than expected - label says pineapple but you’ve really got to look for it. Chewy and well-integrated - lovely to sip - just not the fireworks I maybe expected. 4

Pours a big mocha head that hangs around for a few minutes with little or no lacing. Nose of strong coffee and brown sugar. Tastes of coffee, bitter chocolate, and brown sugar/maple. Feel is lacking. Overall I'm glad to have experienced this! Thanks John!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
