A 330ml can with a BB of May 2018. Purchased a little while back from Costcutter. Brewed in collaboration with North Star Coffee Roasters using coffee from Brazil, El Salvador and Sumatra. Ingredients also include lactose, cinammon and nutmeg.
A: Poured into a tulip. A very dark brown hue that appears black in the glass. Forms a decent head of light brown foam that settles and dissipates rapidly.
S: Aroma of rich roasted coffee with hints of burnt notes, dark malt, earthiness, mild molasses, subtle spice, ale yeast and a twinge of sweetness in the background. Superb coffee character paired with roasted malt - excellent.
T: Tastes of opulent roasted coffee with notes of dark malt, subtle molasses, hints of dried fruit, lactose, earthiness, light spice and ale yeast. Somewhat sweet and creamy, followed by a balanced malty bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with fizzy carbonation and decent body for the style. Could be a shade thicker; mildly astringent. Aftertaste of roasted coffee, bitter dark malt, lactose, ale yeast and faint earthiness.
O: Amazing - a rich coffee porter with nicely balanced sweetness. Subpar looks; shame the head doesn't hang around for longer. Aroma and flavour are fantastic with tons of high-quality coffee, dark malt, lactose, yeast and faint spice. Nice body that could be slightly more voluptuous. The coffee and lactose additions are very well judged and match perfectly. Goes down like a dream. Well worth sampling if you love coffee beers.

Pours almost entirely black with a noisily collapsing beige head.
Smells of perfumy cola with some molasses and scented wood. Espresso beans, sweet and pungent, mingle into this spice foundation, with gingerbread and cloves atop, creating a unique nose.
Has a very low carbonation, thinner, yet soft mouthfeel and a spicy, sweet medium body.
Tastes sweet from the beginning with a late, earthen mocha bitterness, amped up by molasses and sweet spices. Drinks almost rootbeer sweet, saved by a mocha, bitter chocolate ending.
Strange melange, christmas sweet - I get it, but thin and lacking balance.
