NM are good at this sort of thing. Bigging up a beer with fancy artwork and verbose descriptions. This is garbage. There is zero pecan pie flavour. In fact, there is pretty much zero flavour altogether. Be grateful that this is no longer available. Although I struggle to see the reasoning behind releasing this awful beer, besides not wanting to pour a batch down the drain. A 'that'll do' attitude seems to be what this brewery is all about as every single one of their beers that I have tried has fallen a good bit short. Perhaps they are more concerned with what is on the outside of their cans. I won't be wasting my money on NM ever again.

CAN
Black-brown with bubbles; rubber, caramelized sugar, + bubble gum; chocolate liqueur, fig jam, slight molasses, maybe nuts, and vague roasty end; heavy, round + thick.

Smooth and mellow - no burn. But dies on the end - where’s the concept? Sweet, too - needs roast to cut through it. Not worth the 10%

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Gold Session. Aroma is quite astringent with toasted malts and stale cocoa drink notes. Taste is sweet, artificial and astringent with an acrid finish.

Pours a pitch black coloration with a small, creamy head. Smell is quite sweet, with a slight lactose and estery banana aroma and notes of caramel malt, milk chocolate and licorice. Taste follows the nose, being quite sweet, with a certain marshmallow note, caramel malt backbone and hints of milk chocolate, toffee, slightly tart lactose, banana and licorice. There's also a light, earthy and even very slightly citric hoppiness to this. Improves a lot as it warms. Finishes with a medium bitterness. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with a rich body and medium carbonation.
This is definitely an odd one. Seems like a weird cross between a Milk and Russian Imperial Stout, an Imperial Milk Stout, if you will. Personally, I quite like it, but the kinda weird flavour profile is not going to be for everyone, even though it is quite nicely balanced.
