Collaboration with Other Half and Equilibrium. Double IPA.
Carrying on where last year’s DDH IPA Infinity Vortex took off, we stepped up to DIPA territory increasing the hops in the process.
Brewed with a soft, rounded water profile and a simple base grist of extra pale malted barley with plenty of flaked oats, we put together a beer which was not only packed with everyone’s favourite juicy hop flavours but one which was also backed up with plenty of dank, resinous pine. In the whirlpool we used Simcoe, a hop still considered the industry standard in dankness. We then dry-hopped in three stages, including a generous mid-fermentation first addition, using Citra BBC and Mosaic for maximum tropical notes and modern classic in Chinook, guaranteed to bring plenty of grapefruit, spice and pine to the mix.

Pours a hazy golden amber, peach coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and and juicy tropical hops: papaya, guava, pineapple, with lighter notes of citrus fruit: grapefruit, tangerine and pine. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of light biscuity malt, sweet and juicy tropical notes of papaya, guava and pineapple, lighter notes of citrus fruit: grapefruit, tangerine, herbal dankness and resinous pine, with just a hint of peppery spice coming through in the aftertaste as well. Finishes with a light bitterness and hop bite, with some tropical/citrus notes, pine and peppery spice lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While this may be just a tad too sweet and could be a tad more bitter as well, it's still a terrific WC/NE IPA where the Chinook and Simcoe hops really shine through with some great dank, resinous and spicy notes coming through amids the typical fruit salad character from Citra and Mosaic.

Pours a hazu, golden orange with fine, soapy head.
Smell is juicy and hoppy with notes of mango, pineapple, citruys and a hint of grass and sweetness.
Taste is juicy and intense. Big tropical notes of mango and citrus are tempered by notes of pine and a solid bitterness with just the right amount of hop burn. Finish is hoppy and dry with a hint of licorice.
Mouthfeel is medium, pillowy and well carbonated.
Overall, a terrific DIPA, intense but not overpowering.

Pours a dark thick yellow color topped by fluffy white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, pine. Quite rich and thick mouthfeel. Taste starts off with tropical fruits and pineapple, in the middle I get light citrus and grapefruit and finishes piney. It leaves a burning bitter aftertaste. Great NEIPA
