Pours jet black with soft tan head.
Smell is sweet and a bit roasted with notes of cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla sugar and chocolate pudding.
Taste is sweet and roasted with a nice maltiness. Notes of cinnamon, chocolate truffle and vanilla.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation.
Overall, a nice Christmas porter. The flavors feel somewhat artificial, but still nice.

330 ml can, mail order from Left Field Beer, England. ABV is 5.2%. Black colour, moderate beige head, nice lacing. Distinct aroma of cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla, also medium roast malts. Smooth and pleasant flavour, some sweetness but not too much, otherwise the same elements as the aroma, very moderate hops.

After work drink.Deep brown, not black. Smells of chocolate, vanilla, hint of spiciness. Taste is the same, with a light coffee roast taste. Feel is too fizzy and think for my liking. Fine flavoured porter.

Can. Almost black. Dense and creamy head. Wispy lacing.
Rich aroma of the named ingredients and tastes similar.
Some milk chocolate digestive biscuit mixed in.
Soft carbonation. Medium to full bodied. Easy drinking feel.
One of the best made for xmas ales.

Northern monk festive star - vinilla, cinnamon and chocolate Porter 6.0%
Black dark porter with slight cream head. Smells slightly sweet and porter like. Taste is slightly roasted with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, coffee and chocolate. Nice and easy to drink, maybe because not to strong. Good beer :)

330ml Can from Beer 52:
Opaque black with a thin & bubbly, beige head on top that disappears after a minute. The nose is chocolate & dark malts, biscuit & a light sweetness with an earthy notes & some spices at the end. The taste is earthy too with smoked flavours & darker malts before coffee & faint spices see things out. It's medium bodied, smooth & softly carbonated with a smoked oak & earthy bitter finish.
