In 2017 we realised the first iteration of Northern Rising. The beer was brewed in celebration of our crownfund. It's a beer we still talk about.

We felt it was time to bring it back and use this as an opportunity to update our community and our journey, as well as shout you a pint for playing your part. Last year was a big year for us and we wanted to raise a glass to you to say thanks.

Pours a clear, pale golden coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smell is a little subdued, with light biscuity malt and faint citrus/tropical hops coming through, with notes of tangerine and papaya, as well as a hint of grassiness. Taste is a good balance between light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with the citrus notes of grapefruit and tangerine clearly dominating and some lighter mango and papaya accents, as well as hints of grassy dankness and pine. Finishes with a light bitterness and some citrus notes and grassy dankness lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and mesium carbonation.

A decent Pale Ale that just feels a little lacking in body and vibrancy though. It's highly drinkable and very citrussy and refreshing, just seems to lack that little bit of oomph to really wow you, while still remaining perfectly enjoyable.
