Transient is the first core beer in the UK to showcases Strata as its lead hop. Brewed with Incognito hop oils in the whirlpool and then dry hopped to 20g/l, with Strata backed up with the ever popular tropical flavours of Citra, this is IPA is a haze of passion fruit, orange zest, mango and dank pine.

Copenhagen 14/3 2025. 44 cl can from A Good Case web-shop. Grey can with Northern Monk's usual pretty cool, monkish logo and a river running through the lands. The version I am drinking holds an ABV of 7,0.

Pours opaque, hazy yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin layer foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a light sweet fruity odor mingling with stronger scent of citrus fruit and turpentine. Sweet each and Mango. A bit overripe. Grapefruit galore. Lime and Lemon. Sharp and tart.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, slightly viscous, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and citric with a light sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is tart and dry.

Zesty and pretty intense,

Overall, nice, well made NE IPA.

Can at 7.0% ABV. Hazy straw with a narrow bubbly head.
Tropical fruit hops to the nose. Pineapple and mango apparent.
Fruity flavour. Some pencil eraser present with a light, dry finish. Wheat biscuit and lemon cake discerned.
Well carbonated yet soft feel.
Reasonably nice DDH IPA.

440ml can. Pale orange juice with a big, fluffy, off-white head and creamy lacing. Pithy citrus aroma with just a hint of cabbage (galaxy hops?). Tastes of lemon pith, orange pith, wheat and yeast. Mouthfeel is light, smooth and dry.

Pale yellow, with a fluffy and dense white head. Smells nicely stone fruity, some peach, bit of mango. Very nicely drinking, just the right amount of carbonation, easy body but not thin. Tastes light, fruity, some sweetness. Nectarine, melon, ends bittery.

440ml Can from Morrisons (£4):
Hazy golden to yellow in colour with a large, foamy white head that sits about 4cm tall with good retention. It's pungent on the nose with dank notes, citrus & a strong hop presence. I got some floral touches & pine with a little pineapple too. The taste is similarly strong with dank hops & citrus, some pineapple & juicy fruits too. It's lively & well carbonated with some mango & various other tropical fruits in there too. It's a pleasant beer, perhaps a little overpowering at times but still a nice drink.
