this is great, great imperial stout, such a dark and menacing beer, big beefy malt, molasses, strong liquorice, soy sauce, marmite, wood, cigar smoke, but also a noticeable hop presence, floral, some hints of sweet fruit flavour, and big bitterness on the finish, full bodied, low carbonation, motor oil thickness, big big beer, a real cold winter’s night beer, and while we’re not quite there yet, this was the first day of cool and persistent rain this autumn, so perhaps this was the right beer to mark that
