Northern Monk was set up with just £5000 passed down by a grandparent. Inspired by this generous donation that allowed our dreams to come to life, Faith In Futures provides £5000 grants to charities, volunteer groups and community projects.
Laura Slater is a textile design practitioner based in Leeds. Utilising traditional production methods of screen-print as design and image making tools, process and drawing are central to the development of her distinctive aesthetic, textile works and printed objects. With a passion for democratic and accessible approaches to design, her work explores the significance of pattern and printmaking as a vehicle for making art for the every day. Collaboration and working with others is at the heart of her studios ethos.
