Light golden color. Smell is fairly hoppy, with a bit of citrus. Taste is bready malts with a little citrus and a touch of DMS. Hoppier than expected, but not in a bad way.

A thanks to the amazing woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, a bit grassy. Taste is the same as the aroma, but more citrus, some grains, very hoppy for the style. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, not bad, but not what I expect from this style.

Dense thick head which never completely settles. Partial blanketing of lace. The color is light amber. Crystal clear.
Quite a bit of roasted corn with a touch of sourness to the smell. A bit off putting.
The flavor is definite improvement to the smell. The texture is very rich for the style. The carbonation is also high but not enough to cut the body too much. The flavor still has a touch of corn to it, otherwise it's a full pale malted barley tongue. The swallow brings enough hop for balance. The finish is pleasant and satisfying.
Overall, this is a pretty cool beer once you get past the off aroma.

Pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a thick white head. Smell is quite hoppy, and comes off as grassy and spicy with some citrus. Taste starts out with a bit of doughy malt, but is quickly overtaken by the hops. Grassy and spicy, with citrus. Ends with a strong, refreshing bitterness. Really enjoyable flavor, but to my mind this is more of a hoppy lager than a pilsner, as it lacking the maltiness and the balance of a true pils.
Whatever you want to call it, I thought this was a delicious beer and would certainly seek it out again.

Fairly clear body, lightly golden, lots of lively carbonation, topped with a chunky, fluffy white head; rings of lacing along the inside of the glass. Subtle scents of melon and floral notes; gently sweet on the nose. Lightly sweet flavor; light cereal grains; intense bitterness slowly develops, nearly hidden at first, then swells dramatically towards the finish; clean. Medium-light in body; crisp with a mainly dry finish.
A fine example of a tasty pilsner style of beer (a kellerbier per the brewery's web site). It delivers strong visual appeal and an alluring aroma. The taste is well-balanced overall, with a nicely awakening hop bitterness that lingers long after each sip. I will be looking for more of this beer...

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow, good head.
Smell: A little skunk, then soft grassy aroma.
Taste: Crisp, mildly sweet, grassy, then finishes a little bready.
Overall: Nicely made keller beer, grassy and bready, easy drinking. Fair State makes quality German style beers (and others too!)

Pours it a light straw yellow colored beer. Beer is cloudy, but not completely opaque. Thick sudsy white head dissipates steadily leaving a thin layer of sudsy foam on top of the beer.
Aroma has notes of cracker malts, grain, grassy spicy hops, a touch of lemon or light citrus zest on the nose. A bit of a twist on a traditional aroma, but quite nice.
Taste has notes of cracker malts up front, with grain and a touch of corn - likely some light DMS notes - peeking through. The hops are quite pronounced and provide a very grassy bitterness with some spicy notes. There is also a light citrus fruity character to the beer that would seem to come from the hops. Lingering grassy bitterness lingers on the finish. Its definitely more bitter than I'd tend to expect for the style, but its not at all unpleasant.
Feel is light, lack the breadiness that you'd expect from a German pilsner. Fizzy carbonation. Semi-dry finish.
Overall this is a really nice unfiltered pilsner from Fair State. It admittedly is a bit hoppier than one might expect for the style, but its nicely done and a very good beer.

12oz can, willi becher. Cloudier golden yellow body, one finger white head. Short retention, bits of lacing. Smell is freshly baked biscuit, light grain, floral and slight herbal hop aroma. Crisp lemon and baked bread on the palate, a bit of spice, light floral notes. Slightly heavier mouthfeel for a pilsner. Otherwise, medium body, good carbonation, fairly good depth.

This beer pours a crystal clear gold with a solid head. The aroma features biscuit malts, river rock minerality. and a clean hop character. The flavor offers a clean biscuit malt aroma, with clean, almost wine like minerality and white grape, and a hint of raw grain. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with solid carbonation. Overall this is a stunning beer - clean but with enticing malt flavors, and hops that merely serve to balance, but do it so effectively.
