LÄCTOBÄC: lemongrass & ginger

12 oz. can. Clear golden. Big bubbles that don't last at all, but it is aggressively bubbling from the bottom of my class. Smells of ginger and lemon with some zippy citrus acidity. Tastes like a kombucha with a grainy backbone. Ginger and lemongrass are both present. Quite sour right up front and lasts throughout. Light body with ample carbonation, at least for the moment. Maybe kombucha mixed with lemonade is a better descriptor, except there's no sugar to it. I dunno. I'm mixed on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pours straw yellow with zero head, very typical for the style. Smells delicious —faint ginger, lemongrass, tart/unflavored yoghurt. Taste is immediately tart some carbonation zip, now mild ginger coming across palate, then the dual attacks of lacto tart and lemon acidity, very nice level of sour with the flavors of lemon and light ginger. Super refreshing in a medium-light bodied beer that holds together well. Appreciate the higher ABV as well. Finish is clean, sour, lemony-gingery. All the elements work great beer.
