16 oz. can. Yellow and hazy by older definitions. Cloudy more than murky. Smells dank with some lemon and light tropical hops. Faint grain. Tastes of herbal and dank hops, a bit of soap, tropical fruit, and light garlic Light grain along with some chewier pale malt. Medium body and incredibly drinkable. This is a great take on a Hazy IPA. Avoids the unnecessary yeastiness and heft that so often turns me off of the style. Now if only it had some real bitterness...

This is a very interesting beer. Got it in a multi pack from Tavour, and it was one I hadn’t really thought of and actually forgot I had. Looked at the can and saw Burial and thought of how I like the beers I’ve had from them. Yellow, hazy, plenty of fluffy head and lacing. Smell is most interesting-melon, lemon, ganja, and...pepperoni? Honestly, there’s a bit of a meaty spiciness on the scent that reminds me of a pepperoni pizza. Taste first off reminds me of a saison. It’s got a lemon zing, then some fermented funkiness and a dank aftertaste. Clean, crisp, sippable. A very interesting beer.

Sastrugi pours a hazy golden color, with a very small, lacing head. Aroma is dank, hints of weed. Flavor is dank, hints of weed, dry tropical fruit, and creamy. Good body and feel. Overall, a very flavorful, well flavored NEIPA.

16oz can poured into a large Duvel glass.
Pours a pale gold but full straw color with a soft fluffy 2" head which goes to 1/2", no lacing. Beautiful yet unnoticeable carbonation.
It's nose has a high luster of orange citrus, citrus flower, melon, grapefruit, berries, lemon and orange blossom bouquet.
Taste is fresh squeezed orange juice, green melon, lemon tart but more sweet tart than dank tart. The sweet is from within the citra power, then a hint of peach cobbler crust. Lighter in body it finishes faster than a lot of other NEIPA's but is not parching or top-heavy with hops.
The feel and taste of this ale are just gorgeous.
It has a soft, lightly crisp and fast, fairly wide mouthfeel spread going cheek to cheek. It's does drink like a 7%ABV ale yet it is airy, floral and doesn't have a bulky hop load holding it down. A well constructed DDH NEIPA. This one scores high.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow, skin of head. Funky, weedy, dank, herbaceous aroma. Taste seems sweet and fruity st first, and then...Wham! It's dank. Really, really has a weed presence here. Not much of a bitterness, actually finishes fast. Dank light.

Pours a very cloudy, opaque golden yellow color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is good. Has more of a melon aroma with a hint of lemon. Lemony taste on the front with juicy melon on the end. There is some dankness to it. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

16oz can, Stamped date on can bottom is 'JAN/07/21'.
Cloudy, straw colored body. One finger of frothy white head. Leaves behind some partial sheets of lacing.
Aroma has some dank, some tropical, some melon.
Taste has hops that express berry, lemon citrus, and herb. Has a little bitter bite at the end.
Mouth feel is medium, but the experience is very light and crisp. Very good carbonation.
The difference with this beer is in how crisp it is in the mouth, as compared to IPAs that want to leave a heavy coating in the mouth. Not dry like a Brut but the end zips up and away, and leaves some pith behind.

Can. White head. Lace. Hazy golden color.
Very unique flavor. Lemon zest. Citrus. Tropical fruity, but has some west coast hops showing. I really like the combination. Very drinkable. Soft, but some dank shows.

This is different from most IPAs I've had from Fair State. Even though it's DDH it's not overdone, and the cool fermenting German ale yeast does crisp it up quite a bit. Apparently this is a riff on the "style" that Fair State wants to do again. Count me in.
