Pours black, with little head.
Strong smell, even as it is pouring. Smell is banana, wood, vanilla and a little cocoa and cinnamon. Can definitely smell the bourbon pretty strong.
Flavor also has a strong bit of bourbon, but not so much that it is unpleasant. Besides the bourbon, I pick up the maple syrup and wood flavors the most, with the cinnamon next. The bourbon lingers a bit. (Side note: I have really enjoyed the wood-barrel aged stouts that Fair State has made previously and this one hits the same notes. Delicious!)
Feel is thick and smooth.
A great BA stout. I would definitely have this one again.

Thick and syrupy in appearance, inky with minimal head. Vanilla and sweet malts on the nose, with banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, oak and birch bark. The cinnamon is more prominent on the front palate, where the maple also comes in, making this an interesting French toast breakfast stout. The coffee totally fades to the background, lending some earthy nuttiness that I start picking up more as it warms a bit. I'm fairly sensitive to cinnamon and this is on the bleeding edge of what I would consider too much, so it's probably right up most pastry stout fans' alley. Not sure where the banana impression is coming from, but it also sticks around on the flavor profile whenever I take a new sip.
