A three-way collaboration with our buds at Blackstack and Modist, mashing up our three favorite hazy IPAs – Mirror Universe, Dreamyard, and Local 755. We used our Mirror Universe grain bill, and smashed a whole ton of hops from our friends on top of it. Citra Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, Sultana, Azacca, El Dorado, and Amarillo. Drippy pineapple, mango, nebulous fruits, with a hint of dankness to tie it all together.

Fair State Dream Universe no. 755 NEIPA, 7% ABV. Pours hazy orangish yellow with a 4+ finger blindingly white head that left lots of foamy lacing. Nose is vague fruit and light pine, taste is slight fruit, faint sweetness, moderate bitterness. Dry mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Picked this up recently at Gary's in Florham Park, as I never heard of Fair State before and obviously, never previously saw this beer either. Even though this wasn't brewed in New England, it was a bit hard to see this as a New England style compared to the haze bombs common in these parts. That's because this had less juice, a bit more hops, and was much more turbid and earthy in nature. This was true to form but somewhat new and different at the same time, as it did not stay in my pint glass for very long!

Not a bad look to this as it appeared a murky peach with a thin, but full head topping it off with a few bigger bubbles rising to the top of the foam. Very little lacing remained down the side of my pint glass aside from a thin and wavy ring near the top. Lots of melon, wild berries, grain, and earthy hops in the nose as the taste followed suit. Subtly juicy, slick, and deep, this had a nice pine undertone to it as it was oddly reminiscent of something from the left coast. Some deep pineapple and fruit cocktail emerged in the aftertaste as the alcohol was extremely well hidden and the carbonation toned down to the point of being present, but recessed behind the range of flavors.

Full in body, sticky in the aftertaste, and somehow showcasing all the hops that went into this, I'm willing to bet that this an equal amount of the three brewers and their three beers that went into this. A nice amount of tropical fruit lingered once I finished this off as I would have easily reached for another can, had there been one here. This looked like it was dated on 1/7 of this year, with STPDRU1" written on top of that, although I would have sworn it was a month ago had there not been anything written on the bottom of the can. Loved this beer and if you're looking for a change from New England or New York beers of this sort, this would be a worthy, and easily enjoyable, alternative!

16oz can into a tall glass. Canned 1/4/21, so over 4 months old.

Looks outstanding in the glass. Hazy yellow/orange body with a generous bright white head which persists in excellent form throughout leaving patches of thick lacing.

Aroma is of dull mixed fruit.

On tasting, fruity, juicy, a touch sweet. Citrus just nudges out non citrus. A little warmth from the abv.

Mouth between medium and full, finish a blend of sweetness and dry hopping.

Overall, even with a little age on it, very easy drinking NE ipa. Not a hint of bitterness, juicy, fruity, and that little dry hopped finish.

16oz can. Can bottom is stamped '31/03/21'. I let this four pack age a bit to allow the greeness to mellow. We will see.
Murky, pale gold colored body. Two fingers of white head, retreats to fluffy cap. Leaves bands of lacing.
Aroma is melon and tropical - pineapple, mango, and papaya.
Taste is abrupt with hops - lot of ripe pineapple and some muskmelon. Mango and papaya too. Becomes a little dry in the finish.
Medium plus mouth feel, with some syrup. Adds a little sting to the tongue. Very good carbonation.
Collaborations are hit-or-miss, mainly because the brew is a compromise in order to include all of the various suggested components from the participating brewers. This is more of the "throw in the kitchen sink" approach, and it succeeds for the most part. Tasty sweet hops, and the alcohol is extremely well hidden. I will enjoy the other three of the four pack over the next few days, and see if the hops change much in expression. I would not hold this beer much more than forty days past the brewing date.

Can. White head with lace. Hazy sunset orange color.

A very nice 7% hazy. Packed with flavor, without the massive abv. Very juicy and tropical. Orange, mango, papaya. Very soft feel to it. Some honeydew and cantaloupe. Smooth finish. No bitterness. Well done.

From a 16oz can:

Appearance: Hazy yellow, ok head.

Smell: Citrusy, mild dankness.

Taste: Citrusy, moderate sweetness. Tasty, but kind of ordinary.

Overall: Picked up this collaboration between Fair State, Modist, & Blackstack, three of the eminent haze brewers in the Twin Cities. It's a nice beer but not greater than the sum of its parts. Any of the individual beers-Mirror Universe, Dreamyard, or Local 755 are better than this. But I like to see collabs and it's a good beer!

Fair State’s label of the mash up of IPA’s And collaboration trio from Modist and Blackstack This pours a hazy straw color with a fresh white head. Smell is fruity and tropical. Taste has citrus berries papaya and melon. A soft mouth feel with waves of tropical fruity hops, low bitterness and more sweet than dry. Very good.
