The original Lobster Stuffed with Tacos was aged in bourbon and brandy barrels, whereas this one specifically calls out the coconut rum. The brandy barrels carried a lot of weight in the previous release, and the coconut rum doesn't reach that same high standard because the stout is also infused with toasted coconut already. As a result, the main barrel influence is boozy rum that is fairly strong, to the point of overpowering some of the flavors that would otherwise provide balance or contrast. I find this pretty common with rum barrel-aged treatments, and it's a shame after how much I enjoyed the original despite not being a pastry stout aficionado. That said, it's still top-notch and very enjoyable, a liquid brownie batter infused with booze and cherry cordials.

Collab with Bottle Logic
On tap. Tan head that fades. Thick oily black color.
Coconut all around. The rum shows nicely. Tastes like Black Forest cake dipped in rum. Vanilla and cocoa. A very big beer. Thick, pastry, dessert, warming. Awesome!
