A huge, imposing Imperial Stout, but just the beer part. No extra candy or pastry here, just a mountain of malts. We mashed twice as much, and boiled three times as long, and the resultant beer is luxuriantly chewy, chocolatey, mildly roasty, and delightful all on its own.

16 ounce can, date stamp on the bottom of the can is off center so I can only tell it was canned sometime in December, but not sure what year. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark berries and some brown sugar. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some earthiness, burnt/charred malt, molasses and a bit of licorice flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's coating, smooth and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, certainly worth trying if you come across some!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This MONSTER pours a coal black with a
nice head of brwon foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and
sports some fine lacing. Nose of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, cream,
brulee, and dark berries. Flavors find their mark with dark berry notes of
blackberry and blueberry, dates, vinous notes akin to a merlot, deep dark
chocolate, char, brulee, dark coffee, as well as leather and tobacco on the
rear of the taste. Mouth feel is full, smooth, slick, coating, rich, light
carbonation, and a sweet bitter malt finish that is nicely warming.
Overall, this is a fine pastry style brew done right!
Cheers

Perhaps it's the long boil to blame, but I'm really enjoying a more pronounced prune and vinous character that I associate more with big European stouts like Black Albert. Quite sweet and thiccc, but I appreciate it was achieved without a bunch of added flavoring agents. Produces a nice finger-plus of head on an aggressive pour, bringing out plenty of earthy, roasted aromatics on the nose. More bittersweet chocolate on the palate to go with the full-bodied mouthfeel.

Pours a dark brown to black color with over a finger of tan head. Molasses is the most prominent note on the nose, but there are also hints of chocolate, smoke and licorice.
The flavor has solid roast profile that is nicely contrasted by a subtle sweetness. The smoke pokes out on the finish.
The mouthfeel is sticky and the body is hearty. The alcohol is barely noticable which is surprising for a 12%+ effort.
PS: Cheers for crafting a tasty, somewhat sweet and BIG stout with NO adjuncts!!!

Not an adjunct to be found so of course I am all in on this beer. 16oz can with a date of 12/02/21. Pours thick and creamy with a dense mocha head. Aroma of chocolate, moderate roast, licorice, with some smoke and alcohol. Weighing in at 12.4% ABV so not sure I need 16 ounces but here we go. Flavors of chocolate and licorice with a relatively minor boozy finish. Thick, creamy, and rich flavors and body. Lovely carbonation.

Pours dark black and viscous. Dense lingering mottled brown head. Excellent lacing.
Aromas of chocolate, anise, and roasted barley.
Sweet chocolate notes at the outset. Anise, dark chocolate, and molasses in midstream. Roasted/astringent at the end. Skewed a little sweet.
Not sticky or heavy, despite the full body.
Adjuncts are so ubiquitous in this style that drinking one without any is a bit weird. Sweeter than most, yet not cloying.
I like it, but it's a little sweet for the style.

I like it. Picked up a crowler at the Fair State taproom this evening.
Pours thick and black with a copper head.
Smell is a bit light, but still good.
Taste has a light sweetness. None of the adjuncts, as it clearly says it would be just an imperial stout. Very good flavor.
Feel is thick smooth and creamy.
Outstanding beer!

On tap. Tan head with lace. Black color.
Black licorice, anise, molasses, black cherry. Fudge, chocolate, tobacco, and roast. This was a pretty big miss. Not for me. An ounce was enough.
