In honor of the 20th day of the 4th month of the year, we present to you Legalize Big Doinks, an Extra Extra dank IPA. We've added to the doinkyness of Doinks by procuring some of the finest distilled terpene blends available on the market. What are terpenes? They are highly aromatic compounds in plants. Useful for many things (attracting pollinatos, etc.) they're plentiful in both hops and cannabis, Terpenes are distilled from various fruits and herbs, then carefully blended back into aromatic combinations that are, shall we say highly reminiscent of the less-legal versions.

Hops: Columbus Cryo
Malts: Pilsner, Carafoam
Process Notes: Terpenes added before packaging

Pours a gold color with a foamy white head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of grasses and floral notes. Taste is tangy and very hoppy. Crisp and dry with a strong bitter finish.

Nose and name is the best part of this one. Sweetwater’s version of the pot beer is a bit better. Grassy and dull lemon.

A - Pours out pale gold body, white head with thin cap, lots of thin line lacing.

S - Powerful slap of pine and lemon citrus, dank grassiness, and herbal notes.

T - Follows the nose, with a savory undercurrent, bite of bitterness in the close.

M - Soft open, moderate weight, dry finish, with a subtle resin build over time.

O - An interesting experience, with decent flavor, depth, and definitely the promised smash of dank hops.

I like dank beers as much as or more than the next guy, but the natural flavors added to this one to make it “extra dank” seem a bit off. It’s almost like the designer of the natural flavor was someone who hasn’t smelled dankness but had it described to them. The pine and allium notes are turned way up and the skunk isn’t high enough. Enough griping though cause it is nicely bitter, has a dry finish, balanced overall. And the appearance is dadgum perfect. The tight creamy white head persists throughout the pint and the chill hazy liquid is the perfect straw gold.

16oz can. Can bottom is stamped with the date of 'MAR/21/23'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Lots of fluffy volume in the white colored head. Leaves behind an interrupted pattern of lacing.
Aroma rises from the opening of the can, and wafts a few feet in all directions. Dank weed smell, with a little citrus.
Taste is dank pine, with other flavors of orange and grapefruit. The dank terpenes continue strong in the aftertaste. Bitterness makes a brief presence late in the profile but it is dank mild.
Medium mouth feel, with a soft texture. Crisp finish. Very good carbonation.
A beer made for 4/20, and the upcoming MN legislature vote on legalizing recreational marijuana sales, possession, and growing.

16-ounce can picked up at the brand-new John's Marketplace location in Beaverton. Date stamp reads "STPLEG02 A: MAR/21/23". Poured in a nonic half-pint glass.

Look:
Pale gold and slightly hazy, topped with a thick, long-lasting disc of foam that leaves dense patches of lacing.

Smell:
Weed, and lots of it. Dense and skunky like the atmosphere at a Foghat concert. Underneath that heavy cloud are notes of papaya, stone fruits, diesel (Mosaic hops?), lilacs, pine resin, a bit of sweet pineapple.

Taste:
Up front, I get the same pungent gingery flavors as I get from Fremont Kush, another terpene-enhanced beer currently on the shelves around here. Follows through with lemon-lime notes on top of semi-sweet, breadcrusty malt. Finishes with celery and weed on the breath with a smidge of lingering bitterness. Spectacular hop burps that are the Venn diagram of citrusy hops, weed, and spicy ginger ale.

Feel:
Medium-bodied with peppy carbonation. Leaves a tingly sensation on my tongue and the roof of my mouth. Slight spicy burn on the swallow, more like you would get from ginger than from alcohol.

Overall:
This beer is a trip. Smells a lot like weed. Tastes like a citrusy IPA with ginger at first, and reveals fascinating nuances with every sip. Extremely interesting in the best sense of the phrase. I've spent almost an hour nursing an 8-ounce pour, teasing out all the different aroma and flavor components. Time to put on the headphones, cue up some mid-70s Tangerine Dream bootlegs, and open another can...

Crowler. White head. Some lace. Clear golden color.

This is the seediest/pottiest beer I’ve had. So much dank, stanky week. Hop oils. Floral notes. Sticky green goodness. Love the 6.5% lower abv option for an ipa. This is straight up goodness.
