Picked up a six pack of cans. Canned on 3/22/22. Cheers for the eco-friendly six pack rings (cardboard).
Pours a clear, golden yellow in color with a half inch of frothy head which dissipates to a thin layer of foam over time. Carbonation looks a tick above average. Plenty of lacing on the glass as you drink. Looks exactly as a pilsner should.
Aroma is grassy with lemon and a hint of white wine. The malts are mostly of the sweet grain variety. Little if any corn. Smells light and refreshing.
Taste follows the nose well. Sweet and very lightly roasted malts up front with, a little buttery, lending way to a bittering lemon and grassiness which lingers on the tongue. This is a pretty classic German pils profile, and well done at that.
This is a light bodied beer with zesty carbonation which manages to drink very smooth with a lovely, buttery mouthfeel. Finishes crisp and fairly dry. Very drinkable and quite refreshing.
Overall this is a great German style pils that feels very refined. Fours across the board. I have yet to have a bad brew from Fair State, so I guess I'll keep grabbing new ones as I see them! Cheers!
