Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber to brown color with a strong light tan head. SRM of 21. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of some nail polish, spiced rye, and molasses upfront. Amber malts, bready with some caramel and brown sugar. (3.50)
Flavor: Strong flavors of nail polish molasses again upfront. Some amber malt and cherry. Then some baked bread, caramel, and brown sugar sweetness at the end. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied, strong spices of red and amber malt. Smooth and malty and boozy on the mouthfeel. (3.75)
Compared to Off Color Scurry 2/2023: Pours darker, stronger head. Milder aromas. More molasses, cherry, rye. Less smoked honey, floral and toasted notes.
Overall: A decent Altbier here. Nails the molasses and rye flavors which almost gives it a nail polish astringency off the front. Then some nice cherry and amber flavors. A bit flat, but still drinks nicely. Pretty decent. (Rating: 3.81)

Pours very dark brown but pretty clear. Excellent foamy root-beer-float head that lingers very well with excellent lacing.
Nice toasted aromas initially. Subsides as it sits in the glass, which is a little weird.
Lightly toasted malts pretty forward on the tongue. The hops are initially earthy with a skosh of citrus and grass. The finish delivers some nice nearly ashy astringency that wasn't expected at all.
At least medium bodied. Well carbonated for the style.
Solid offering for the style. This one is nice on the porch as the fall evening temps drop into the 50s and 60s without delivering the booze of a warmer.
