A dark beer suited for the season, made in collaboration with the brilliant lager brewers that started Gold Dot Beer: Lisa Allen (Heater Allen, McMinnville, OR) and Kevin Davey (Wayfinder Beer, Portland, OR). It turns out The Key to Happiness is a Dunkel—a traditional German style of beer that’s not often available in the US. Dark, malty, and crisp.

L-Copper colored...Good clarity
S-Excellent aroma..dark bread crusts, with hints of nuts, cocoa and caramel.
T-Similar notes on the flavor but all are subtle.....just a little musty on the back end for some reason..
F-Light side of medium bodied...clean....
O-I was anticipating liking this more than I do but it's good as you can see by the scores here...was hoping it would be a 4.75+ though and I'm not getting that..

Canned 9/26/23; drank 12/4/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lacing remained.
Caramel, mild raspberry & faint autumn leaf notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium mouthfeel.
Autumn leaf & mild raspberry flavors up front; faint toffee notes on the finish.
Balanced, autumnal & well above average; I'd have another!
