A rich dark amber beer with full-flavored, smooth taste nicely accented with satisfying notes of roasted malt and subtle bottom fermenting yeast tones.

This is an awesome beer. If you love dark roast coffee and dark chocolate, you will love this.

I think the variation on this is due to it being imported and lacking a clear canned date. I have had some mediocre cans that don't live up to the above rating. But, when you get a fresh batch, it truly is fantastic.

I am drinking this on 5 May 26, and the best by date on the bottom of the can is 20 Jan 27, for reference for everyone out there.

500 ml can. Pours a rich dark red brown with a big buff head that dissipates pretty quickly. Roasted malt dry smells of brown bread toast. Tastes light and drinkable with a tart ashiness and slightly above average carbonation. Light bodied and astringent in a short finish.

First dunkel I've given a low score to. Yall are definitely rating this too high - it's significantly worse than any other dunkel I've tried. Can't be considered to be high quality.

(123 days old) Translucent deep amber. Semi-sweet roasted malt aroma. Caramel and malt flavor with hints of dark chocolate. Smooth and easy to drink. Light touch of hops at end with some lingering malt sweetness. Pretty fresh tasting considering its age.

A surprisingly flavored dunkel...

Looks good, the head though was very short-lived. The smell was what surprised me the most, nice smoky scent that translated to the taste. Unlike other smoky flavored beers, this one wasn't overpowered or off-turning. Mouthfeel was medium-bodied, somewhat crisp, somewhat astringent. Overall, a great dunkel...

It's amazing how this brew is lighter than your average dunkel without compromising flavor or quality. I usually enjoy heavy dark beers but this one works. It's crushable while stay true to what it is

Had on tap at Hessen Haus in DSM, paid for by the Pub Pass courtesy of Katie and Graham. Really enjoyable, has a fruit tinge (caramelly banana?) to the nose that is off, but overall pleasant. Easy drinker, a bit lighter than other dunkers.

Nice dark brown amber colour with a light brown head that receded quickly. Generic sweet-ish Dunkel malts on the nose. It hits all the typical dunkel notes in the flavour - toast, chocolate, and the like - but somewhat muted and thin compared to better dunkels out there. There is a hint of smokey bacon going on, strange as that sounds, which is quite nice. Goes down fairly smooth. Overall not the most flavoursome of dunkels, but a perfectly serviceable dark lager.
