This has got to be one of the most beautiful looking beers I have ever seen (for my liking). After that, it is a very well made Zwickl with big sweet bread and toast flavors balanced with an earthy and spicy bitterness, but nothing to get too excited about. A very easy to drink beer, especially on a cool day. Prost!

Love the color. Excellent taste and a great malty note.

On tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours an amber/red color, with a small white head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like bitter yeast, overripe pear, honey, caramel, and a bit of piney bitterness.
This tastes a bit confusing. It's quite malty, and a little too sweet, with caramel leading the way. It's mildly hoppy, with a kind of stale slightly fruity yeast flavor. I'm not a huge fan of this one, unfortunately.
This is lighter bodied, fairly crisp, with a higher level of carbonation.
This one didn't impress me all that much, and didn't really feel all that much like the kellerbiers that I've had in the past.

Honey all the way - on the nose and the palate - but not overly sweet and definitely not a mead - caramel color with a creamy head - honey and caramel balanced by hoppy bitterness. Tastes of bread and some fruitiness are also there.

330ml bottle, poured into a Stone snifter.
A: Amber, hazy, large tanned head made a very quick getaway, moderate amount of lacing.
S: Citrus fruits and farmyard funk, could have been an American IPA.
T: Sharp, big hit of barley sugar, gave way to slight hints of grapefruit, malty backbone was reminiscent of an IPA but it didn’t quite have that burst of citrus. Finish was lingering and bitter.
M: Moderate carbonation, slightly thick texture.
O: Somewhere between Kellerbier, IPA, California Common and IPL, a pleasant surprise.

Mixed Impression. Nice notes in nose and taste, but inconsistent development with sudden drops of water-like taste.
