500ml bottle at home in Bavaria. Pours a Light amber color with a full beige head. Aroma is very unsual spicyness. Taste is sharper than the Aroma. Nice for a change from normal Bavarian fare.

Copenhagen 5/11 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. As “Warsteiner Winter”. Warsteiners usual design in dark and warm Christmas colors.
Pours clear amber with a medium-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with metallic notes. Caramel and toasted malts. A bit of biscuits.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sweetish with a light burnt twist.
Sweet, caramel-ish, toasted malty beer.

I am not sure I am rating the right beer, but it sort of looks the same and it is called Winter. But it is 5,6% abv now.
As it is a yearly edition it might have changed overtime.
Warsteiner is a bit light on the abv anyway to dive under european abv-%-related taxes, as it is a bit too high on skunky barley malts.
Poured from a 330 ml dark brown glass bottle. Low on but fine carbonation, Nice amber colour. 3 finger white head, beautiful off white foam, fast resolving.
Smell, wet dog, graveyard malts and some thyme.
Taste: pilsener malts, too much skunky barley malts, drinkable, but not very balanced.
Mouth feel, not too bad.
Quite well done actually, only the skunky bitter barley malt aftertaste spoils the winter festivities.
Drinkable but would not advice this for a special occassion.

11.2 fl oz brown glass bottle.
5.60% ABV. "Festive beer." Brewed with hop extract.
Amber malt and Munich malt are present, with some herbal and floral hops balancing out the sweetness. Not cloying, nor spicy (as many winter beers are). I suspect lager yeast was used given how clean and ester-free this tastes.
Drinkable but dreadfully simplistic and shallow, lacking any complexity or subtlety to its build whatsoever.
C+ (3.18) / ABOVE AVERAGE

03/14/17 2nd impression from another bottle:
Filtered pale amber coloured body;. Off-white head of standard frothiness and thickness. Head lasts ~4 minutes.
Aroma is herbal and bready, with clean lager yeast attenuation. Mild residual sweetness. Amber malt, hints of toasted malt. Herbal hop notes. Below average aromatic intensity.
Has an almost syrupy amber malt backbone with herbal hops and a clean yeast profile free of any esters or phenols. Slightly toasty, but not so much it falls into amber lager territory. Mediocre balance.
Drinkable, smooth, wet, clean, and medium-bodied. There isn't much depth of flavour or intricacy here, but I suppose as a more wintry brew than standard Warsteiner it's not a complete failure. Not a brew I'd buy again, but I've enjoyed polishing off the six pack I got. Pleasant and inoffensive, but far from dialed in or impressive.

Hazy brownish copper with a slight head that quickly disapates. Pretty simple, light and caramelly. This is malty but a little slight. I'm new to this style.

It starts with the nothingness, watery slightly yeasty aroma of many Euro lagers. Nice looking color and very clear, but the head is small and doesn't last very long.
Lager malt character - (Untapped lists it as a marzen and that really seems closer than a winter warmer). Slightly rich but not too sweet. Smooth lager feel. Slight drying. The taste moves more to a dunkel with strong toast almost pushing to burnt. Slightly bigger feel than typical lager and with the slightly increased abv. As it warms pick up a little unsweetened caramelized taste.
Nothing great. A slightly bigger lager for the winter.
