375 ml bottle into a snifter. 2017 edition, had 12/21/18. Also had on tap 1/7/18 when released.
Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch quickly dissipating head and light foamy cling. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malt, char, vanilla, some caramel. Also picking up the aroma of bananas, which dissipates a bit. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, less malt than the aroma. Also get light banana here; and again it somewhat dissipates. Smooth- it was a bit harsh on tap, a good but lighter full body, well carbonated.
Good, better with some age on it, but kind of straightforward and lacking in depth of flavor. Definitely barrel forward. Best fully warmed.
