2/15/25 - (Home) (Chicago, Illinois) Can Notes: Purchased a single 16 oz can at Beer on the Wall at store temperature on 2/5/26 for $3.98 including tax. No can date but distributed week ended January 16, 2026, and also no listed ABV for this Dry Hopped Oat Pilsner brewed with Pilsner malt, oat malt and flaked oats. Hopped with Saaz, Cascade and New Zealand Cascade. Fermented with German Lager Yeast. Brewed and canned by Werk Force Brewing Company, Plainfield, Illinois.
Appearance: Poured 3/4 of the can into a 0.5 liter pilsner glass, yielding a generous bright white bubbly creamy head leaving a dozen clumpy soapy lacing spots and a creamy cover over most of the clear golden straw light yellow base. Mild carbonation after the initial pouring burst. 4.25
Aroma: Faint biscuit and a little sulfur, had to try hard to get both. 2.75
Taste: Getting a salty cracker, which is nice, but also a harsh pure alcohol flavor I wasn't expecting. Drinkable, but not enjoyable. 2.25
Mouthfeel: Persistent light carbonation, drinks harsher and stronger than the 5.5% ABV listed on BA. A little salty and dry, slaty cracker and alcohol start to finish. 2.75
Overall: I typically like this breweries offerings, but this one wasn't for me, and not sure it should have been released. 2.25
