Introducing “Mabel,” a carefully crafted Englsh-style barleywine utilizing a traditional old world technique to brew this imperial beer. We started with rich, toasty English floor-malted Maris Otter malt and after mashing and gently lautering we boiled the wort for six hours. This extended boil time increases the Maillard reaction process adding additional complexity and flavors of carmelized sugar, toffee and lends a beautiful aburn hue. A subtle touch of hop bitterness from English Fuggle hops compliments the rich sweetness of the malt. Each bottle is a celebration of tradition and a nod to the past.
