Pleasant taste of chocolate, slight toffee, coffee, very easy on the aftertaste. Not much foam on top but that’s not a dealbreaker. I had it at Bridger brewing in Bozeman. Go Cats!!!

June 2018....pours dark brown, reddish tints, light foam. Nutty chocolate nose. Slight grit in the dark chocolate overtones, but still a smooth operating nut brown. Coffees. Real good.

Poured from growler into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a medium dark brown color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a little bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is a nice blend of chocolate and caramel giving it a very sweet aroma. Along with these smells are some roasted malt smells mixed with a hint of an herbal aroma as well as with a bit of a vanilla sweetness and a light nuttiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice roasted malt flavor with some hints of a light chocolate and with some sweeter flavors of caramel and vanilla. As the taste advances, the chocolate and vanilla actually fade a little bit with some flavors of nut replacing these. The nuttiness grows more and more intense as the flavor moves onto the end, and with a little bit of an increase in light herbal and earthy hop tastes, one is left with a somewhat roasty and bitter flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side for a brown ale with a carbonation level that is slightly higher side, especially for a growler pour. For a brown ale a little more thickness and creaminess as well as a little lower carbonation level would have likely been better for the roasty and nutty flavors of the brew and given these flavors much more umph.
Overall – A pretty decent brown ale with a nutty and drier flavor overall. Nothing too exceptional but still a decent drinker.

The brewery's beer board had the the ABV listed as 5.2% while the web site lists 5.0%. The board also listed a 19% IBU.
Cola brown body with a thin, wispy head. The smell contained very faint sweet and roasted grain notes. The flavor brought flavors of lightly charred bread crust, faint chocolate, and thin caramelized sugars. Medium-light body; fairly dry finish.
The beer comes across lightweight and somewhat weak though not without merit. The main problem is a lackluster, thin and watery malt base. The hop bitterness is spot-on yet doesn't have the sugary malt sweetness to bounce off of to bring out much depth or complexity. Decent if uninspiring.
