Deep Space is a huge imperial stout which was made with all sorts of roasted and caramelized malts, giving it deep flavors of espresso, dark chocolate, and smoked currants. This version aged in Belle Meade Bourbon barrels with coffee & vanilla

16.9 oz bottle dated 2/6/2017, number 26 of 204. Drank Jan, 2022. Can’t find any indication of the barrel used but will assume it’s the Belle Meade batch. Drank from a tulip.
@jhavs review nails it although I found the barrel and vanilla to have receded a bit in 4 years. A nice thick indulgence of a great Barreled Souls beer.

Poured into one of their branded fluted snifter 7oz taster glasses at the brewery.
Dark as night with a thick foamy espresso colored head. Head settles slowly and coats the glass with lacing.
Full on bourbon and coffee aroma. Coffee smells like deep roast. A hint of fresh vanilla bean in the background adds a bit of sweetness.
Flavor is coffee up front with a bit of vanilla and sweetness. Background is boozy bourbon, dark fruits, roasty malts. Layered and smooth for big ABV and hefty barrel presence.
Body is heavier side of medium body, bit creamy, lighter side of moderate carbonation.
Tasty brew, big and bold all around.
