Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass not sure when was canned but I figure in the last 3 weeks at most. Pours a very dark near pitch black with a 2 plus finger light brown head that leaves some thin streaks of lace as it slowly settles into a thin film of bubbles, yielding excellent retention. 4.5
Smell is vanilla bean, cocoa, coffee beans, biscuit, and toffee. 4.25
Taste follows vanilla upfront, cocoa, toffee, and a nice expresso finish really well balanced and smooth. 4.5
Mouthfeel is bigger than average, not dry and that is rare with a coffee stout, drinks way to easy at 8%, and creamy and gentle on the palate. 4.75
Overall I could drink this one every day and be a happy man the rest of my life. It is slightly one dimensional but so crazy drinkable and tasty I can’t complain. Well done Barreled Souls Brewing Company. 4.5
