This pastry stout came about while finishing another. Last fall, while I was toasting all the coconut for Make Me A Stout Clown, I randomly had some Reese’s cups sitting on the counter. I know, I know, who has Reese’s sitting around? Why hadn’t I eaten them already? I’m not sure - it must have been destiny at work. Anyway, the combination of Reese’s and coconut was profound, and I instantly thought, "We have to make this a beer." So we did. This beer is thick and sweet with aromas of dark chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, and vanilla.

Bottle from part of their 6th anniversary release in 2020. Event didn't happen because of 2020.
Pours creamy and very dark brown, barely perceptible light pierces through the edges of the glass if you hold it up to the light. Head is dark tan and bubbly, thin but persists as a collar and islands of bubbles.
Huge burst of peanut butter in the aroma, sweet chocolate makes its presence known as well.
The flavor is sweet and rich. Milk chocolate, fudge, hint of bittersweet baking chocolate layered over big peanut butter punch. The coconut is not being pushed around either, its presence grows as the chill wares off and it adds an excellent layer of flavor that melds well with the huge peanut butter.
Creamy and rich body, smooth carbonation that is great for the style.
I wasn't sure how the coconut would blend with the common peanut butter and chocolate combination. It worked extremely well and makes me happy that I purchased a few of these. Great end of the night or post meal dessert beer that is not too sweet or syrupy to put some people off.
