Sampling a 2023 500 ml bottle at cellar temp and poured into my snifter. Bottling date of 04/24/2023 and has been in my cellar for over a year.
The beer pours a dark cola brown and rests much darker in my glass with no light passing through. Minimal fluffy beige head of less than 0.5cm. This foam fades to a sturdy edge layer soon after the pour.
Aroma on this beer is sweet cocoa powder, like all Stay Puft variants. Mixing with some vanilla, a bit of bourbon and no hints of hops nor booze.
First sip reveals a medium body and smooth texture with fine tingly carbonation. Beer drinks pretty easy for a bigger imperial stout and there isnt any warming notes either.
Flavor is sweet cocoa, vanilla, again bourbon notes and a little dark fudge here too. No hops come through on the beer and never any boozy notes on the flavor profile.
The beer drinks pretty easy for a larger imperial stout. glad to have tried this one from Barreled Souls on the first night of my winter vacation!

Bottle. 2019. Tan head that fades. Oily black color.

A lot of bourbon shows. Oak and vanilla. Marshmallow and fudge. Starts our super hot and boozey. Gets a bit better as it warms, but it’s overly roasted, bitter chocolate, and boozey.
