Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a strawberry rhubarb red, with 2 finger light pink head that leaves a few streaks of lace as it settles rather quickly. 4.25

Aroma pineapple, orange, strawberry, cherry, and grape. 4.25

Taste follows but I will just say like fruit punch and as a kid I loved fruit punch. 4.25

Mouthfeel is about medium, less carbonation than most sours, not dry, and at 8.5% you only notice the alcohol a little. 4.25

Overall this is a really solid sour, I am starting to definitely understand people interest in sours. Recommend for sure. 4.25

Just about a month ago, I reviewed this beer's smaller brother, Superman Punch, for an NBW thread and, to my surprise, I actually thought it was a pretty fun beer. Not very seasonally-apropos considering it came out in mid-December, but this one is also not quite in-season by the same token. The higher ABV may help make it more "warming," however, so let's see how it comes across.

The idea behind both WW Punch and Superman Punch is that they are goses made with actual fruit punch Kool-Aid. Yeah, seriously. It's dumb, and really not a good or respectable idea, but SP won me over in the end because it was well-made and tasty, and still felt like an actual beer at the end of the day. This one pours similarly; a hazy (but not opaque!) orange-tinged pink-red color with a surprisingly nice, retentive head that leaves behind some moderate soapy lace as it slowly fades. Good surface coverage and simple but effective legs for a kettle-sour.

The nose is tangerine, cherry, and pineapple with some light hints of passion fruit and an odd "artificial" citrus note coming through This was also the case with SP, so they're pretty dang similar upon first impression, to be entirely honest. I'm not sure that's a great thing, though, because given this beer's much higher ABV, I would expect at least something different to happen. Also, doesn't really smell very "sour," but I don't believe SP did either, so it is what it is. Perhaps the flavor profile will give greater clarity to the situation here.

Wow, my initial feeling is that this is way, way too salty. It's wheaty and heavy with some dense (and kinda artificial) flavors of tangerine, cherry, and pineapple along with some light raspberry and currant elements that sort of set it apart from its sibling, but the finish just feels overdone in terms of minerality. Where some salinity should typically help drinkability in beers like this, it can get to be too much when the beer is, y'know, twice the strength of any traditional beer in the style that is being attempted. Most of the crisp and bright flavors here are totally undercut by salt (and maybe even coriander... which would be kind of funny because it would make this both stylistically more on-point but also less enjoyable overall), and though I think what they went for here is admirable in an audacious and stupid way, this is pretty much a let-down. I will buy Superman Punch again if they make it for the warmer months of the year, because it was fun and pretty well-made. This one isn't thirst-quenching, it's less fun, and it just feels like it throws its weight around a little meaninglessly, so I'd say it's worth skipping.
