Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very thick and almost still black. No head. The nose is peanuts, vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate, loads of bananas, cream,

The taste is as advertised. Lots of banana cream, peanuts, chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla, and a roasty bitterness. However, I feel like the bitterness stems from the marshmallows, which can be masked when barrel aged. The Stay Puft beers that aren't aged tend to have this sweet and bitter character. If you like bananas and marshmallows, this is for you!

The mouthfeel is medium to thick bodied, with an aftertaste of sweet bananas, marshmallow, and peanut butter.

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. The beer was bottled on 5/12/2025. Picked up at the brewery in August of 2025 and has been in my cellar since pick up. The beer pours a dark rich coffee to cola brown, no light is passing through my glass. A dense creamy tan head foams up about 1.5 cm and fades to a thin edge layer soon after the pour. I do get a little scattered lattice on swirls and sips.
Aroma on this beer is dark chocolate fudge, some peanut butter, roasted malt and a little sweeter milk chocolate and hints of vanilla. Dont really get much banana and definitely no boooze nor hops on the aroma.
First sip reveals a medium body with slightly slick mouthfeel, and soft spacious carbonation. Physical traits are actually pretty easy to drink for this bigger flavorful beer.
Flavor is a sweet start with milk chocolate, vanilla, and some peanut butter cup. Hints of roasted malt and a little bit of roasted malt. Sweet chocolate lingers a bit and there is a little boozy bite on the finish, but not much. I dont find any hops anywhere on this beer.
Im enjoying this beer and its firmly in the typical stay puft world. Idont get much banana anywhere, but in general its an enjoyable sweeter big beer.

This one pours a dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like creamy chocolate, with a bit of sweet peanut butter, vanilla, and a touch of banana.

This is a few years old, and time seems to have done it pretty well here. It’s creamy and decadent but not too sweet, with no one adjunct – marshmallow, peanut butter, or banana, really dominating here. It’s still pretty roasty and chocolatey, with those added flavors in nice harmony.

This is medium bodied, not all that boozy, with a nice drinkability to it.

I don’t drink much from Barreled Souls that isn’t barrel aged, but the Stay Puft variants tend to be pretty tasty overall.

2021 bottle, drank April, 2022. A good sweet stout, but unlike the Salted Caramel variant, which perfectly complimented the base Stay Luft and brought out the marshmallow, for this one, I couldn’t taste any thing other than sweetness no matter how hard I tried. There might have also been some odd little bit of extra carbonation but I couldn’t quite put my hands on it. Overall, I think they overshot expectations on this one, but it still tasted good and was enjoyable to drink.

Pours a dark mahogany with an overly large dark mocha head that dissipates fairly quickly into a big, uneven crown and messy lacing.

When pouring I smelled huge wafts of overripe banana. When sticking my nose up to the glass for a sniff I get big, roasted peanut. Maybe some chocolate and fluff behind, but no banana at all. Very dry.

I was expecting that dryness to carry over to the taste, but the beer is actually extremely sweet. I again got banana at first, but it’s quickly overpowered by the marshmallow sweetness and more of that roasted peanut. There’s fairly strong alcohol burn as well, and a little chocolate, but the sugary sweetness is what lingers.

Thick, chewy feel with just enough carbonation.

The sweetness of the base worked like a charm for me with their blueberry variant. It’s not bad here, but isn’t as good by comparison. PB & fluff lovers may feel differently.
