Pouring a cellar temp bottle into my snifter. Bottled on 2 -19-2021.
The beer pours a clear mahogany color with minimal but densely packed eggshell white head. Remains as the thinnest of edge layers during sampling. Several active streams of carbonation rise to the surface, but creates no foam.
Aroma is sweet malt with some caramel and brown sugar. There is a bit of a nutty character and some general booziness. No hops anywhere.
First sip reveals a medium body with sticky texture soft gentle carbonation.
Flavor is sweet and malty like the nose. Caramel and brown sugar dominate with a little black peppery booze on the finish. I only get a little almond nuttiness in the background. The beer drinks smooth and flavorful.
Another enjoyable beer from Barreled Souls.

This one pours a golden orange-ish color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like warming booze, almond brittle, vanilla, sticky caramel, sugar cookies, and molasses.

I strangely like this one better than the Templeton Rye Honey Pot that I tried earlier, which was just monstrously sweet. This is a bit tame in the sugar department. The nutty almond character adds an earthy dimension that cuts the big drippy sweet malt character of the wheatwine. This would be pretty excellent in a barrel aged version - I think the almonds would work great in that arena.

This is sticky, boozy, and thick, with a very warming feel to it. It's definitely a slow sipper.

I don't always like adjuncts in my strong ales, but this worked quite and helped refine a messy big base beer.
