Poured at just a bit warmer than fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with a thin layer of head. The nose is spectacular. Bourbon, toffee, vanilla, molasses, figs, and prunes. There is some booziness here, but it's fairly mellow. The nose is just so freaking awesome. I could sit here and smell this for days. After sitting with it for a few minutes, I get a nice sherry/raisin note come through.

The taste is absolutely phenomenal. Very low carbonation, so the flavors punch you in the face without hesitation. Deep notes of bourbon-soaked toffee, vanilla, raisin, brown sugar, and a slight burnt note. It's almost like candied sugar or burnt toffee. The alcohol is not really detectable, although there is a modest boozy/alcohol taste. I wouldn't have guessed this was 14.4% ABV, that's for sure.

The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied. The aftertaste is a sweet raisin mixed with toffee. Lovely beer overall!

16.9oz bottle courtesy of Roguer. Bottled on November 3,2021, per the rear label.

Poured into a Tree House snifter (also courtesy of Roguer), this was a tawney pour that looked black once in the glass, and took on a slightly mahogany issue when held up to light. Decent-sized khaki colored head initially, receding to a ring atop the liquid but never fading away

Glorious nose of bourbon and toffee.

Taste is reminiscent of the nose, but more complex. There's a slightly raisiny, dark fruit aspect as well, and a very slightly sherry-like flavor on the back end. Little alcohol heat. But there is is on the back end and very much in the background.

Creamy, coating mouth feel.

Holy s***, this is decadent stuff. Very easy drinking stuff. The extremely high ABV is not apparent. This is fantastic as a nightcap, dessert, or just a reward for making it through a particularly trying week. I'm very grateful for getting this bottle. Thank you, Andrew!

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. the beer was picked up at the brewery two weeks ago and was bottled on 11/03/2021. Beer was temp controlled storage by the brewery before I picked it up! :)
Pours a rich mahogany color with a fizzy beige head of 1 cm foaming up after an aggressive pour. This foam fades to a thin edge layer quickly after the pour. Soon, there is no foam left at all.
Aroma is rich sweet and malty. I get toffee, brown sugar, some bourbon notes, a bit of raisin too. Very mild fusol alcohol notes. No hop character to speak of.
First sip reveals a medium body, almost non existent carbonation, slightly slick mouthfeel. Although it is a little sticky on my lips too. Flavor is also sweet with toffee, caramel, brown sugar, and bourbon. I swear I get pipe tobacco here too. Not really any bitey booze or warmth = a dangerous brew I think! hops are also absent from the flavor profile.
This beer is sweet and malty, but far from cloying or candy like. No hints of booze and I really like it! Glad I have a 2nd bottle. so tasty!

Deep, dark brown body; light carbonation; thin ring of head foam with smaller patches of suds floating on top. Smell of charred caramel, bourbon, figs and dates; charred wood; brown sugar. Sweet, boozy taste; maple syrup and brown sugar; bourbon. Heavy body; rich and slick; big residual sugar feel; moderate alcohol heat; sticky.

You want a big, boozy, syrupy monster of a beer...???...here's one for you. It is not for the faint of heart but should surely please those looking for something with power and character.

This does not look great when you pour it. It's muddy, murky, and kind of sludgy looking, with a small head, and not much lacing.

Luckily, it smells awesome, with milk chocolate covered caramels, tootsie rolls, vanilla, dark fruit, leather, bourbon, spice, and toffee.

This is one of the more chocolatey barleywines that you'll have it. Some people might not dig a stout-like incursion into the style, but I'm open to it! There's lots of tootsie roll like flavors here, caramel truffles, Rolos, and toffee, with a wonderful spicy barrel character adding vanilla, burnt char, and leather.

This is medium bodied, and pretty creamy, with no real boozines to it, and a very smooth feel overall.

Once you get over the real murkiness of this one, you get a delicious and unique barleywine.

Fantastic beer from start to finish. Rich nose, replete with dark malts, yeast expression, and bourbon barrels. Notes of booze, prune, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, toffee, espresso, raisin.

The unbelievably rich aroma translates to the palate almost perfectly. Remarkably restrained booze heat considering the near-15% ABV. Sweet, decadent, rich; this beer is phenomenal.
