Im sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle from 9/27/2021 that is poured into my trusty snifter. Picked up the beer at the brewery in October 2021 and has been in my cellar since then.
the beer pours a dark black coffee color with a large fluffy tan head of 3.5 cm that overtops my glass, but doesnt spill down the outside. Good retention?!?
This foam fades slowly to a sturdy surface covering and leaves dense lattice after each sip that I take from the glass. Looks nice for an imperial stout.
Aroma on this beer is a nice mix of malt characters. I get a lot of roasted malt, espresso grounds, and dark chocolate mixing with some brown sugar and milk chocolate with hints of sweet orange buried in the background. The nose is appealing and I like how the roasted notes play with the orange hits.
First sip reveals a smooth textured medium to thick bodied beer with soft gentle rolling carbonation. Feels very nice and easy to drink.
Flavor is some roasted malts, hot cocoa powder, and some light and sweet coffee notes. I get some vanilla and a faint orange candy note in the background, and no hops and its not very boozy either.
This is a pretty tasty imperial stout that is kind of what you would expect from a beer with these additives. Im glad to have tried this one and think if you like chocolate and roasted malts, you would like this beer.

Fantastic head production and retention, in particular for a beer with this ABV and some additives. Foam is a fairly dark brown; body is ebony black.
Nose features a lightly roasted American Imperial Stout body, along with strong chocolate notes and very light hints of orange. Toast, caramel, chocolate, orange, prune, cola, light char, alcohol, vanilla, leather, tannins. It's not a particularly strong aroma, but it's quite lovely.
Super thick and flavorful on the palate. The orange zest adds a distinct bitterness very slightly at odds with the moderately sweet and rich body. Notes of brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, toffee, prune, chocolate, espresso, orange. I appreciate the subtlety of the orange flavor, complementary to vice predominant over the chocolate. It does take a few sips to get acclimated to the bitterness of the orange zest - which is different in character than that imparted by hops, oak, or roasted barley.
Thick, smooth, creamy mouthfeel; sublime and top-notch. It's obviously a big beer, and yet the 11.5% ABV is never remotely harsh or aggressive.
This is a very, very good flavored imperial stout with impressive potential for aging in spirits barrels.
