Opaque black in an Atiek Snifter with a thin, ring of walnut foam. A clinging film lifts and pulls down the ring of lace that rides above. A dark golden halo can be seen when put to light. The second pour built a slight lingering 1/8" head of fine foam.
Smells like a churro. Very sweet with cinnamon and cream. Dark roasted malt is sweet with dark chocolate undertones.
Yup, it is sweet! Still less than anticipated, with mild roasty bitterness holding it in check. The churro flavor is similarly less than as was suggested by the aroma. Chocolate and roasted malt make up for the shortfall, adding fudge and chocolate pudding. The finish is long and mild, dominated by chocolate and cinnamon.
Smooth and soft with a slick texture and very full body. One might say voluptuous. Carbonation has a soft tingle, while the alcohol is as expected, increasing with warmth.
This is definitely a dessert beer, even though I am enjoying it as a mid-afternoon treat. Too bad there is no Bavarian Chocolate Cake within reach.

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into a snifter. Beer was bottled on 7/5/2022 and was picked up at the brewery in October 2022 and has been in my cellar since.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color with no light passing through my glass.
A dense creamy tan head foams up 1.5 cm and fades to a strudy surface covering that remains throughout the sampling. I get clingy dense lattice every time I take a sip or swirl my glass.
Aroma on this beer is chocolate and cinnamon with some vanilla and brown sugar too. Cinnamon is the dominant note and carries through with no hint of ABV nor of any hops in this beer.
First sip reveals a medium body with a thinner texture than expected and very fine gentle carbonation. Texture is also a little sticky with some residue on my lips each sip.
Flavor is light chocolate, cinnamon and brown sugar and a bit of vanilla. Cinnamon lingers on each swallow. Never any hint of the ABV nor any hop presence in this beer.
A very drinkable sweeter stout, but not overly cloying or candy like. I quite enjoy the cinnamon which meshes well with the brown sugar notes. Very happy with this beer. Would drink another of these bottles.

500 ml bottle, bottled 7/05/2022. Picked up at the brewery a few months ago.
pours jet black in color, with thick tan colored head. decent head retention. very nice cinnamon and caramelized sugar flavor on top of nice dark chocolate and vanilla flavor. Full bodied, slick feel. Only moderately sweet.
I am a sucker for cinnamon in big stouts, and overall this one delivers.
