The pour has the muddy complexion of Corten Steel that glows beneath 1.5 inches of rusty, white foam. The head crackles as it transforms from fluffy to seafoam and eventually leaving a fine ring and occasional spots of lace on a Steigle stange.
Oh, wow! The rum punch really hits you in the nose. Orange and cranberry are easy to pick out with light sweetness and a mild bay brine quickly following. The rum aromas truly are very nice.
It opens with mild tartness balanced by a combination of sweetness and brine. The orange is very mild, joined by pineapple as it warms. The long finish is mild. Rum is merely an accent and an amazing touch within a Leipzig Gose.
8.1% ABV is shockingly well hidden. The texture is similar to Jersey cotton, soft, with a medium to full body. Carbonation is similarly soft. The palate score is to style and would be significantly higher if scored only by personal impression.
This is by no means a traditional Gose. And what of it?!? What it is, is tasty and aromatic. Subtle without being delicate. If the alcohol content were lower, I could easily sip several of these in a single afternoon. As it is, the appearance matches today's Autumn weather while the rum punch aspects take me to tropical climates. I can easily see this being an excellent match with a lazy brunch.

I can't say I'm able to discern any particular fruit, it pretty much just tastes like red fruit punch. There is a hint of lactic tartness and maybe a whisper of rum. It's okay but doesn't "pop" for we the way the White Sangria did.
