Pours matte black with a fat finger of fizzy mocha head that somehow manages to stick around for a good minute or so before settling into a large crown that leaves short-lived lacing.

Brownie batter and vanilla stand out in the aroma. There’s some cherry-tinted bourbon, too, with a drier brown malt quality below — shoe leather and carbon dioxide, mostly.

Amaretto, almond and strong alcohol heat stand out first in the taste. Drier baker’s chocolate and leather round out the finish. There are only slight hints of vanilla and caramel, making it much less sweet than many Barreled Souls offerings.

Full bodied and creamy with sharp, yet somehow soft, carbonation.

The flavor mix and intense alcohol make this a fun one to try.
