Sampling a 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter at cellar temp. Bottle was at the brewery as part of my stash and picked up in August , and has been in my cellar since.
The beer pours a deep mahogany color and really no light passes through my glass. A creamy beige head of 1.5 cm foams up and remains as a surface covering and strong edging through the sampling. Very dense creamy lattice on swirls and sips, looks very nice in the glass.
Aroma is a little mild with some caramel and vanilla with hints of oak, like a toothpick, and a little black peppery booze. No hop character on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine gentle rolling texture. Beer drinks pretty easy for a bigger beer.
Flavor is similar to the nose with some caramel and toffee with a bit of dark fruit, I get plums, and some dry oak notes too. Finishes with some dark fruit and definitely some warming as the booze hits my belly. Never any hop character on this beer. A tasty big beer with some booziness and barrel character. Seems about right for Barreled Souls!

This one pours a fairly dark golden brown, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells oaky, with vanilla, caramel, a bit of dried orange peel, chocolate, and some vague spicing.
This has a really interesting and delicious barrel character to it. There’s a nice little hint of dry fruitiness to it, with tons of oak, and a nice luscious caramelly backbone. There’s a nice dry spice to this, with molasses, chocolate, and a touch of barrel derived vanilla.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and not all that boozy, with a nice drinkability.
Barreled Souls always manages to find some cool and unique nuances with their barrel aged beers.
